Kanazawa Samurai District (Nagamachi) & Kenrokoen in the snow.

This is the house in the Samurai district where I do ikebana every week.
The stone lanterns and sculptures in the garden are covered in a straw matting during the winter to protect from the snow.

Trees in Ishikawa have this special roping put on for the winter to protect from the snow.

  1. Love your photos of Kenrokoen in the snow. I was there recently (April) and saw it with all the cherry trees blooming, just stunning. I also had macha and wagashi at the tea house. Happy memories.
